Liza A. Park is an of counsel attorney with the law firm of Parks & Crump. Ms. Park grew up in Dothan, Alabama where she graduated from Northview High School. She headed for the Sunshine State to attend Florida State University. While in college, Ms. Park was elected to the Student Senate, president of Delta Zeta Sorority and president of the Lady Scalphunters. She also co-founded Florida State's premiere leadership group Burning Spear and served as director of the Charlie Ward for Heisman Campaign. Prior to receiving Bachelor degrees in English and Media Performance, Ms. Park was awarded Most Outstanding Senior Communications Student and the Media Performance Student of the Year and was one of three students inducted to the FSU Hall of Fame for 1994.
Ms. Park studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea at Yonsei University for several months before attending law school at Florida State University. During law school, Ms. Park was elected FSU Student Body President and was later hired to co-anchor "Capitol Update," a statewide legislative newscast produced by the Florida Channel.
Upon receiving her Juris Doctorate in 1998, Ms. Park began working full time in broadcast journalism as an news anchor and reporter for WTVY, a CBS affilliate in her hometown of Dothan, Alabama. Soon thereafter, she began working as an anchor and producer for WFSU/The Florida Channel as well. While there, Ms. Park won national awards - two Aegis awards and one Telly award - for her documentary work.
In 2001, Ms. Park joined the State Attorney's Office as a State Prosecutor where she prosecuted criminal cases ranging from DUI's to attempted first degree murder. In 2007, she joined the law firm of Parks & Crump focusing on business law and real estate aquisition. Ms. Park continuously works in television news while practicing law. Currently, she anchors the weekend nightly news for WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee. She's won 2007 and 2009 Associated Press Awards for investigative reporting and a 2007 national Telly award also for investigative reporting.
